Last year, a number of Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools participated in an initiative with students being granted access to the SCDSB Student Guest Wireless network. This opportunity provided students with access to the internet through their personal devices. This year, the opportunity to access the internet through personal devices will be expanded to include all students in the SCDSB using the guest network.
Our students are preparing to live and work in a world infused with technology. The use of the Student Guest Wireless network will allow students to use their personal wireless devices in classrooms for academic purposes intended to enrich their learning experiences and to support our system goal of improved student achievement.
On a yearly basis, your son or daughter requires your permission to access the Student Guest Wireless network.
If you are interested in your child gaining access to the Student Guest Wireless, please have them speak to their teacher about the procedure to have this set up.
Minutes from recent School Council meetings have been added to the ‘Parents’ section of our website.
The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) invites feedback to draft Policy 4310, School Councils. All stakeholders in the school community are invited to complete the survey, including school councils, parents and staff.
This draft policy reflects the direction outlined in the Ministry of Education’s regulations and related directives.
“We encourage our communities to provide their input into this draft policy which relates to school councils and the work they do to support our school communities,” states Paul Sloan, Superintendent of Education.
To review the draft policy and complete the feedback survey, please visit the SCDSB’s Policy Consultation page or click on the following link:

On the Friday before the March Break our Grade 8 volleyball players competed in a best 2 out of 3 volleyball match with school staff. On the stage most senior students could be heard cheering for the Grade 8′s while most junior students cheered on the teachers. Our students from Pine Street must have cheered the loudest because the staff ended up winning 2 games straight.
The game was followed by a game between our girls and boys volleyball teams. It was a close game and the girls held on until the end but the boys ended up winning by 2 points.
Everyone had a great day. We would like to congratulate our students on their great behaviour and school spirit.
